Gas Gas Motos enables the exit of rider Jordi Viladoms to KTM to compete in the 2014 Dakar Rally.
The Gas Gas rider Jordi Viladoms will soon become part of another team. The growing interest for the KTM brand, Viladoms last week has finalized with Gas Gas providing the Barcelona rider to join them team and complete the structure of the Austrian brand that will participate in the upcoming 2014 Dakar Rally with Marc Coma.

Although Gas Gas had the participation of Jordi Viladoms as one of the cornerstones of the Raid project, along with Gerard Farrés and Marc Guasch, and despite having his bike already shipped to Argentina, the Catalan brand has displayed their sportsmanship and have not prevented Viladoms from joining with another team, considering the reasons that led to it.

The Spaniard's season has been completed, and at the controls of a Gas Gas EC 450F Baja he has raced in the Sardinia Rally, the Serres Rally, and Baja Aragón, with victory in the Greek race and third in the Spanish Baja Aragón. In the recently completed Spanish Raids Championship, he was the winner of the first race, and despite not being able to attend the final round for an intestinal ailment, finished fourth. In the Merzouga Rally, where he finished fourth, he finalized the settings of the Gas Gas EC 450 F Raid, which, with a total of seven units, will have an unprecedented presence of a Spanish motorcycle manufacturer in the Dakar Rally. Dakar Rally. Gas Gas wishes the best of luck to Jordi Viladoms and concentrates on the 2014 Dakar Rally, which starts in just over a month. The project remains intact and soon the team will participate in the world's toughest race.

Jordi Viladoms:
"This year we started a big project with Gas Gas, wonderful and with a great future. Unfortunately, there has been a tragic circumstance in the KTM team which has led them to seek a solution on a sporting level and they have contacted me to ask me to join their team. For me it's a big opportunity in this sport. I hate to change Gas Gas project because I had opted for a long-term program and it had already begun to bear fruit, competing directly with the strongest teams in the Dakar. I greatly appreciate the opportunity that Gas Gas has provided me all this time and it was a nice experience to share with the team, making good races. The project is good and wish the best for those who have been my teammates and the entire team that is in the project. I hope that in other circumstances, in the future, that we can cross paths again".
